Chicken or the egg....

If you already have a boyfriend blazer, consider this little baby. The Jamison Banded Jacket, available at Saks for $200 (amazing since it's full price on there). The crest makes it look like a schoolboy military coat, which only makes it more adorable.

Navy is just a superb color, especially on a blazer. Then again, maybe I only feel that way because there happens to be a lot of navy blazers floating around these days...

O yes, the title of the blog, "Chicken or the egg..." My boyfriend used to say that all time and today we had a discussion about how fashion trends emerge. His opinion: We like what we're told to like. My opinion.: It's intuitive.

Fashion is everywhere, all the time and you know more about it than you think. I mean, is anyone surprised by the fall colors that are coming out? I'm seeing rich blues and purple, lots of grey and black. Aren't you glad? Weren't you looking forward to some rest on your eyes? (No offense to fluorescent but I personally just prefer it in small quantities or accessories). The point is no one is telling me what color to wear.

So look at the jacket above. Military jackets have been huge and all over celebrities lately (eg. Britney, Madonna) , regardless of whether or not it looked good (that's extremely controversial). Not to mention that the recent and unfortunate death of The King has brought the style into the spotlight as well.

How can I say there was no influence on me at all? Ugh, I hate it when I'm wrong, even though it's just sorta wrong this time.
