Not jumping on the Balmain train

Had not decided whether or not Balmain shoulder pads were attractive until yesterday.  The answer is no.  Now, I'll admit it's quite fetching on the runway or red carpet, but I don't want to see it on the street.  There isn't a even a fraction of desire to look like I have pointy shoulders.  I can't understand why anyone would want that, but I believe this kind of thing is called "power dressing."   Okay then, this jacket looks like it's for someone who is the commander of a spaceship.  $13,395 at net-a-porter. 

I guess you must be pretty powerful to afford that.
