DVF Handbags; take it or leave it?

I need to say this.  I suffered all weekend due to my piece of crap laptop being incompatible with the new router we just picked up.  Therefore, I had to go online on my teeni little blackberry curve (which is another piece of crap I might add), and try to read all my emails and shop on that thing. Anyways...enough of the mooondays.

Funny thing happened today.  I noticed DVF handbags for the first time.  I know they've been around, but they just werent very attractive; too structured and businessy.  Plus I would see them alot at TJ Maxx and Marshalls or something.  Those are my favorite stores when I'm in the mood to bargain shop - I've found so many diamonds in the rough.  But when it comes to handbags, I don't do discount stores (Yeah I'm a snob that way).

The bags this season are totally different.  No wonder my friend told me she went to a DVF handbag show.  I was surprised at first, but now it's coming full circle.  They must be revamping the whole line.DVF is well known for their beautiful dresses and frocks and now it seems the hope is that the launch of new purses will be equally well received.   Check out the DVF Belle bag for $595 at Neiman.

The DVF bags are made from gorgeous napa leather, with gold studs and in rich fall colors - they absolutely hit the mark.

I'd like to add this is a converticle clutch.  Very spacious and with two shoulder straps.  One studded, one non.

My coworker really seemed to fall for this one called the Marisa for $595.  (Can't believe it's the same price).  Except it was in a deep fuschia colored leather at Neiman.  At first I thought the bag was iffy, but as soon as I touched the leather and noticed the subtle weaves of leather and studs on the straps, I finally saw what she saw.

You can find it in either black or deep purple at Bergdorfs.
