Should have known that department stores at the Copley/Prudential mall wouldn't have the DVF sunglasses yet. Slowpokes. It's like de ja vu because the exact same thing happened when I found out about the new Tory sunglasses. And it's interesting because I think of these two brands as each other's greatest competitors in the sunglass market. Before them, there weren't really any designer glasses in this price range ($100 to $200) that I would want to purchase. I love ray-bans but they are not designer in the sense that I'm talking about.
Now I admit, I've bought sunglasses in this price range before, my Marc by Marc Jacobs aviators, and unfortunately one of the lenses fell out. I am not going to talk bad about them though, because I can never say bad things about Marc Jacobs or his creations. Maybe it was my fault. Nonetheless I can feel the difference between a pair of those and a pair of Tory's.
I have a feeling that I will purchase this Classic Cat Eye with Metal Temple ($165) eventually. I just can't prevent myself from buying Tory stuff because it's high quality and well designed. Have you tried on her sunglasses? They are a perfect fit every time and feel incredibly sturdy.
